AnnodexViewer Firefox Extension: Release Notes
Beta 6 (0.6)
- Updated ANXLoader.js file for conformance compatibility with
Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.1 and above.
- Corrected display output for non-Latin Unicode character encoded
CMML text descriptions
- Corrected Timed URI display, updated Send Link function to include
ID URI Links
- Added metadata display panel in user interface
- Playback error testing to determine if playback of media is correctly
functioning. Audio Annodex files are not currently supported in this release.
Beta 5 (0.5)
- Support for end-time specifiers, e.g. ?t=20/35 will play from 20 to 35 seconds
- Slightly changed user interface, to make skinning easier
- Jumping to another clip in the same file should now work reliably
- Installation on UNIX systems should now work when the Firefox profile
directory wasn't in
~/.mozilla/firefox/foo.bar. In particular,
this should fix installation problems on Debian GNU/Linux systems.
- Playback of CMML files via
file:// URLs is now supported:
media files are loaded from the /stream/import tag of the CMML.
Beta 4 (0.4)
- Media playback should be much more stable on Linux/PPC now,
thanks to the correct compilation flags used being used for the VLC media
engine
- Added support for the
<link rel="edit"/> XML tag
Beta 3 (0.3)
- Video display on Windows and Macintosh systems can be resized wider than
600 pixels wide again
- The Table of Contents for the video now automatically scrolls to keep the
currently active clip displayed on-screen if the "Selected clip follows movie
time" checkbox is ticked
- Improved browser stability when double-clicking on a clip to jump to that
time position
- Double-clicking on a clip to jump to it now doesn't make the selected
clip item move back and forth
- Browsing history should be accurate now
- Linux VLC media engine no longer requires installation of the liboss,
libxvideo and libx11 plugins to ~/.mozilla/plugins/
Beta 2 (0.2)
Major changes between beta 1 and beta 2:
- The clip starting time is now displayed in a tooltip when you hover your
mouse over the clip
- Added "Email" button to Send Link dialog box
- Jumping to a different clip inside a video will update your browsing
history, so the Back button takes you back to the previous point in time
- Jumping from a webpage to an Annodex file with a timed URL now doesn't
play the first second of the video before playing it back from the proper
time point
- Usable with Firefox 0.9 (beta 1 required Firefox 1.0)
- Linux support
- On Windows, the maximum size of the video window is unnecessarily
restricted. This limitation is there due to window resizing bugs encountered
in the Linux version of Firefox; it will be corrected in Beta 3.
Beta 1 (0.1)
Initial public release.
