Annoamp 0.1 - Card House
This is the first release of Annoamp, 0.1, dubbed the 'Card House'. Check back for distro specific packages. Tarball now, more later. Get it here.
What is annoamp?
Annoamp is a stand-alone annodex media player using gstreamer and gtk+. It supports both ogg theora and ogg vorbis streams. Its main purpose was to function as a proof of concept program.
It utilizes annodex/cmml streams to allow jump navigation through a media file similar to the function of DVD chapters. In addition to this, it provides a meta information framework displaying images, descriptions and links found in the current clip. It also will remember the last position in a file allowing a resume-like function. This is ideal for listening to long files in shorter sittings.
Installation
Annoamp is currently, only available through subversion. We are waiting for the annodex patches to be accepted into the main tree of gstreamer. That said, feel free to pull the latest subversion and give it a whirl. It can be found at http://svn.annodex.net/annoamp/trunk/.
The actual installation of Annoamp is quite simple. Since it is written in Python, nothing needs to be compiled. Simply run annoamp.py and it should work. However, the dependencies are trickier.
